How do I start renting a storage unit?

Get in touch with our manager or fill out the application form on our website. Booking a unit takes just a few minutes, and once the contract is signed you can start using it right away.

How long can I rent a storage unit for?

Accepted Answer

The minimum rental period is 1 month, and there is no maximum limit. If you choose a rental term of 6 months or longer, you'll receive a discount on the rental price.

What are the storage units' opening hours?

Accepted Answer

Almost all Boxrent units are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ask the manager for exact details.

The exception in Latvia is Rankas iela 8, where access is available every day from 08:00 to 21:00.

Question 4

Can the container storage be used in winter too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The units are dry, well ventilated and protect your belongings from moisture, so they are suitable for use in winter as well.

The only exception is items containing freezable liquids, such as washing machines, dishwashers, coffee machines or other equipment that may still hold water. These items can be stored once the liquid has been drained.

Can I view the unit before signing a contract?

Yes. Contact our manager or leave an application form, and you'll get access to view the unit at a time convenient for you. You can compare different unit sizes and choose the most suitable one on the spot.

Which storage size should I choose?

Accepted Answer

It depends on how much you need to store. Smaller units are ideal for boxes, seasonal items and sports gear, while larger ones suit furniture, household appliances, business goods or even the contents of an entire apartment during a move or renovation.

If you're not sure, contact our manager and we'll help you pick the right size and avoid overpaying for space you don't need.

What is not allowed to be stored in the unit?

For safety reasons, it is not allowed to store flammable, explosive or toxic substances, odour-emitting substances, weapons, illegal goods, food, live animals, or any other items whose storage could pose a risk to people or property.

Question 8

Can I drive up by car?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can drive up to all Boxrent container units by car, and most areas also allow easy access by van or truck.

In some areas it isn't possible to park right at the unit door, so you may need to walk about 4-10 metres to the unit. This lets us use the area more efficiently and offer customers better prices.

If driving right up to the unit matters to you, for example to easily unload items from your trunk, contact our manager. We'll check which locations currently have units with direct drive-up access.

If the box you want isn't available right now, you can book another unit and later move to a more convenient box once one becomes free.

Question 9

How do I end the rental contract?

Accepted Answer

To end the rental contract, let us know at least 30 days in advance. Before the rental ends, empty the unit, lock it and inform our manager. After the unit has been inspected, the contract will be terminated.
